Midtown Atlanta Apartment Project
Faith Technologies requested Ground Penetrating Radar Systems on site at a new high-rise apartment building in Midtown Atlanta, GA. In the process of pouring concrete, some of the electrical sleeves for floor outlets had been knocked out, lost, or forgotten. The building is a post-tension concrete structure, so drilling through the concrete without determining the location of PT cables could prove hazardous.

GPRS Scans Concrete Slab During High-Rise Office Renovation
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was requested on site in a high rise office renovation in Atlanta, GA. GPRS representative Ryan Abueg was asked to determine the location of the reinforcing steel, beams, and embedded utility lines within the concrete so that they would not be damaged during saw cutting to install new conduit lines.
GPRS was called to a job-site after a general contractor discovered that several electrical floor boxes had been covered over during a concrete pour. The pour was a 12” thick, elevated concrete slab. It was the objective of GPRS to scan the elevated concrete slab and identify the location of the floor boxes that had been mistakenly covered during the final pour. GPRS delivered in a huge way on this one!

moreUnderground voids can be extremely dangerous and can lead to severe property and personal damage, and for this project, GPRS was called to identify the extent of a void found within a subdivision in downtown Atlanta. The void was created by a leaking water pipe which washed out the soil under the slab, causing it to collapse in several areas. GPRS was asked to mark the boundaries of the void as well as scan for any other possible voids...
moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems was requested on site to locate unmarked graves in the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville, GA. Our goal was to determine the location of any unmarked graves in a section of the cemetery.
GPR is can be used to detect disturbances in the soil and to locate objects beneath the surface of the soil. It can be used to locate unmarked graves as well as for...
moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems assisted in the installation of new equipment at a training center in the Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant in Waynesboro, Georgia. GPRS was asked to determine the location of the reinforcing steel and embedded utility lines within the concrete so that they would not be damaged during drilling. GPR is an ideal tool for use in facilities with sensitive electrical equipment, as it does not emit harmful radiation,...
moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems was recently asked to assist in a project at a Lowes store in the Atlanta, GA area. GPRS was asked to determine the location of underground utility lines in the parking lot prior to excavations to replace water lines. GPR is a great tool for use in occupied spaces because it does not emit harmful radiation, produces virtually no noise, and will not disturb business operations.

moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems was recently called to a project at the Southwire electrical wire factory in Villa Rica, Georgia. The scope of work was to scan a section of the factory floor to search for underground voids. GPRS was called after a set of steel posts and barricades were installed on the factory floor and a large amount of water was found in the floors. It was thought that a recently installed sewer pipe that had a 1” hole was...
moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems was requested on site at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta, GA. GPRS was asked to determine the location of the reinforcing steel and embedded utility lines within the concrete so that they would not be damaged during drilling for a kitchen/ballroom renovation.
GPR is an ideal tool for use in restaurants and hotels, as it does not emit harmful radiation, produces virtually no noise, and will not disturb...
moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems was requested on site at a condominium renovation in Atlanta, GA to determine the location of reinforcing steel. Large areas of the floor were scanned using GPR to locate rebar, post-tension cables, and embedded conduits within the concrete slab prior to core drilling and saw cutting to add new plumbing and electrical fixtures.
moreGround Penetrating Radar Systems was requested on site to assist in a parking deck renovation in the Buckhead Community in Atlanta, GA. Our goal was to determine the location of PT cables and rebar within the slab in the vicinity of anchor points for a new fountain and bocce ball court that would be added to the leisure deck of the concrete structure.
moreGPRS was contacted to locate all reinforcing steel and conduit within a patch of the concrete floors of a construction project. Plans for this Downtown Atlanta AT&T historic high-rise called for multiple core drilling locations and did not allow for any of the reinforcing steel or conduit within the slab to be struck.
With the 1600MHz antenna, GPRS project managers were able to the floor and provide clear locations for core...
moreOur Atlanta office was contacted to locate post tension cables at a newly constructed hotel in downtown Atlanta. An awning was being installed and the location of the cables needed to be properly identified so that they would not be hit during the installation process.
With the 1600 MHz antenna, GPRS project manager Patrick Moulin was able to scan the area. The 1600 MHz antenna will typically reach depths from 12”-18”. An SIR-3000...

moreThe pictures you see below are from a local attraction in Orlando, FL. The demolition contractor was removing a curb when they unknowingly broke a main feed line for the sprinkler system. This would normally not have been something difficult to remedy. However, they did not know where the shut-off valve was for the system. With this problem hundreds of gallons of water were wasted and the ground will have to be repaired prior to work...
